Changelog
What changed in each release of Nomi Downloader. Get the latest from the Chrome Web Store or the Firefox Add-ons listing. Some versions shipped to one store only: Chrome reviews take longer, so when a bug was found while a version sat in review, Chrome skipped straight to the fixed release.
v 0.4.5
Show upcomingHide upcoming
- Fixed: Nomi avatars showed as empty spaces in the popup, the group list and the export headers after nomi.ai changed how profile pictures are served. The extension now loads them from the new media endpoint, including video profile pictures and their poster frame.
- Fixed: generation prompts were missing from the gallery captions and the prompt files. nomi.ai no longer includes them in the album list, so the extension now fetches each Art, edited image and video prompt from its own request. Albums with many Art images take a few seconds longer to scan.
- The full backup no longer stores selfies twice: the chat now links each selfie to the album copy already in the zip instead of embedding a second one. Bundles are smaller, and the chat still shows every picture.
- Chat exports include selfies by default, so a chat downloaded on its own is self-contained. Existing installs keep their current setting.
- Fixed: on Chrome, a long chat with selfies could stop partway with an error (a rendered part exceeded Chrome’s 64 MiB message limit). Parts are now kept under that limit.
- Fixed: on older Chrome versions the download failed to start with an offscreen document error. The extension now requires Chrome 109 or newer.
- When your nomi.ai session has expired, the popup now says so and asks you to log in again instead of showing an error and offering a bug report.
- Prompt files are now saved by default: each Art or edited image gets a
sidecar
.txtwith its generation prompt. Existing installs keep their current setting; turn it off under Downloads if you don’t want them.
v 0.4.4

- The popup now notices when the extension’s access to nomi.ai was revoked (Firefox lets you toggle it off at any time) and offers a one-tap “Grant access” button instead of a misleading connection error.
- The login, permission and connection cards link to the help guide.
- Error reports can now optionally include your account email, so a reply can reach you right in the extension (the same opt-in the manual bug form already had).
- Reports are easier to track: a friendlier report id (like NDP-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX) and a plain-language line showing the browser and system they came from.
- You can attach the extension’s recent logs straight to a ticket, so a problem is easier to report without filing a whole new one.
- Chat export: when a selfie was made from a described scene, its generation prompt shows as a caption under the image again.
- Redesigned the full-backup index page: the album is grouped into selfies, art, edits and videos with prompt captions, images open in an in-page preview you can page through, cards show counts, and voice calls link straight to their spot in the chat.
- A separate album download now includes a gallery page too.
- Every exported page (chat, mind map, shared notes, backup) has an “Open on Nomi.ai” link back to the companion.
- Advanced mode gains an “All” option that saves the whole backup in one zip, the same as simple mode.
- Downloaded files now include the time, so downloading the same thing twice in a day no longer adds a “(1)” to the name.
- Fixed: a chat containing voice messages or selfie-only replies could crash the export (chat, bundle and Markdown), and the chat export sometimes even said “downloaded” when it had actually failed and saved nothing. Those messages are handled now, and a failed export reports an honest error.
- Fixed: a brief network hiccup at the very start of an export no longer aborts the whole thing; it retries first.
v 0.4.3

- New settings page: a full-size sidebar layout replacing the cramped dropdown.
- Chat Markdown export: just the chat log and backstory, as a readable .md file.
- Voice message audio in chat exports, playable right inside the HTML, with a “most recent N” cap to keep zips manageable.
- Voice call transcripts included in chat exports.
- Everything-in-one-zip bundles with an index hub page.
- Update notice: the popup tells you when a newer version is published.
- “Only new since last” downloads got much faster on long chats.
- The download button remembers your last export type.
- Bug reports: contact confirmation before sending, and a Discord field.
- Fixed: the result of a finished download (or “no new messages”) is shown instead of disappearing with the spinner.
- Fixed: Firefox on Android claimed downloads succeeded while saving nothing, or hung forever on “Saving file”. Saves are verified now, and when the browser cannot save directly a saver tab opens with the file ready to download under its real name, one tap at most.
- Bug reports: a Tickets tab with two-way conversations, and complete, correctly labeled background logs.
- Fixed: Nomis with large mind maps were wrongly reported as having no mind map, and their exports were cut off at the first page of memory terms. The check is now instant, every term page is fetched, and flaky requests are retried instead of failing the whole map.
- Fixed: opening the popup while logged out of nomi.ai showed an endless spinner. It now explains what to do, with a button to open nomi.ai.
- Fixed: long Markdown and JSON exports could stop silently, or spin with no feedback. They now show live progress (messages scanned, mind map terms fetched), survive transient network errors, report an honest error instead of writing a truncated file, and Chrome can no longer kill the extension mid-export.
v 0.4.2

- Report a bug straight from Settings: a small form that sends your description with the recent activity logs, scrubbed of cookies and tokens.
- Live progress while gathering chats: long histories show “Scanning messages: N found”.
- Safer chat pagination that can’t loop or stall on odd API responses.
v 0.4.1
Show upcomingHide upcoming
- Slimmer permissions: dropped the tabs permission (which browsers present as “Read your browsing history”) and the nomi.zar.mx host permission; bug reports now go through regular CORS instead.
- Firefox store submission fixes (add-on ID, manifest description), and the source package Mozilla’s reviewers build from.
v 0.4.0
