Help
Everything you need to use Nomi Downloader. If your question isn't answered here, send a bug report from the extension (Settings, then Help) and the reply will arrive right inside it.
Getting started
- Install the extension from the Chrome Web Store or Firefox Add-ons.
- Log in to beta.nomi.ai in the same browser. The extension reads your content through your own session; it has no login of its own.
- Click the extension icon and pick a Nomi.
- Choose what to export with the download button. In simple mode one button saves a full backup; advanced mode (in Settings) unlocks every export type and its options.
Files land in your browser's regular downloads. You can close the popup while a download runs; it continues in the background and the status is there when you reopen it.
Export types
- Album
- Every photo and video, zipped. Options: quality, folders by date, prompts saved alongside, zip size limits.
- Chat
- The full conversation as a styled offline HTML page, including selfies, voice call transcripts and (optionally) playable voice message audio.
- Mind Map
- Your Nomi's memory: the graph plus every memory term and its dossier, as one HTML file.
- Shared Notes
- The backstory, image settings and anchor looks as an HTML document.
- Markdown / Chat Markdown
- Plain-text .md files: the full profile with chat and memories, or just the chat log with the backstory.
- JSON
- All of the above as structured data, for your own tools or safekeeping.
- Bundle
- Everything in one zip with an index page that links it all together. This is what the simple-mode button saves.
Common questions
A big export looks stuck
Long histories legitimately take a while: the extension walks the whole chat and memory page by page. Since 0.4.3 the status line shows live progress ("Scanning messages: 12,400 found"), so as long as the numbers move, it's working. Group chats and 50k-message companions can take several minutes.
It says my Nomi has no mind map, but it has one
That was a bug with large mind maps, fixed in 0.4.3. The message now only appears when the mind map is truly empty. If you still see it wrongly, send a bug report.
What does "Only new since last" do?
Incremental downloads: the export fetches only messages newer than your previous download of that type, which is much faster on long chats. The history is tracked per Nomi, per export type, on your device.
Firefox on Android
Saving works, and the extension verifies every save. When the browser truly cannot save a file directly, the file opens in a tab instead and you can save it from the browser menu; the extension tells you when that happens.
Firefox lists the nomi.ai permission as "optional"
That's how Firefox displays extension host permissions: you can always revoke them, so they sit under "optional" even though the extension cannot work without access to nomi.ai (that access is how it reads your companions). If it gets turned off, the popup shows a one-tap Grant access button; you can also re-enable it from the browser's add-on settings under Permissions.
Does my data go anywhere?
Exports are built in your browser and saved to your device; your conversations and photos are never sent to us. The few things the extension does send (bug reports you write, an anonymous version check, optional usage stats) are listed in the privacy policy.
Bug reports and replies
Send a report from Settings, then Help. You choose whether to attach your account email; either way, the developer's reply arrives inside the extension. Open Settings, then Tickets to read the conversation, see exactly what was sent, and answer with follow-up messages. No email required.
